1. Check-in time
Passengers are requested to be present at the airport to check-in at the time indicated by the carrier, at least 1 hour before departure (it applies only to passengers traveling with LOT Polish Airlines, JetAir).
Passengers of low cost airlines (Ryanair, Centralwings, Norwegian) are requested to be present at the airport to check-in 2 hours before departure. Check-in terminates 40 minutes prior to departure. Passengers who are late for check-in will not receive a boarding pass and will not be able to fly.
Ryanair passengers who are late for check-in but who will reach check-in desk before departure can book their ticket for another time by paying additional 400 zł.
2. Visas & other documents
The passenger not holding a valid visa and travel documents (passport, vaccination certificates, etc.) required in the countries he/she intends to visit, takes the risk of being refused entry by the immigration authorities.
When flying to European Union countries (such as Great Britain or Ireland) and European Economic Area countries (such as Norway) it is possible to cross the border with valid identity card. The document must include correct data and recent photograph. Only new identity cards will be accepted.
It is useful to take a confirmation of reservation, which can be printed at home right after booking a seat. Confirmation indicates the number of reservation, essential to check-in, flight number, departure and arrival times.
From 21.05.2009 Ryanair passengers are obliged to check-in online (on the carrier’s web site www.ryanair.com), print their boarding passes at home and bring them for presentation at airport security and at the boarding gate.
Online check-in is available from 21 days up to 4 hours before departure. (Once you have checked in online your boarding pass can be reprinted up to 40 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure).
If you do not check-in online you will be required to pay the relevant fee to re-issue your boarding card at the airport (160 PLN). This fee is only available for purchase up to 40 minutes prior to departure. (Detailed information at: http://www.ryanair.com/)
3. Baggage

Domestic flights (LOT Polish Airlines)
Economy Class
registered baggage: 20 kg
cabin baggage: 1 piece of cabin baggage of overall dimension not exceeding 115 cm, not heavier than 6 kg and a laptop computer.
Flights to/from Europe and Middle East (LOT Polish Airlines)
Economy Class
registered baggage: 20 kg
cabin baggage: 1 piece of cabin baggage of overall dimension not exceeding 115 cm, not heavier than 6 kg and a laptop computer.
Business Class
registered baggage: 30 kg
cabin baggage: 1 piece of cabin baggage of overall dimension not exceeding 115 cm or clothing bag width of 20 cm, and additional briefcase of dimensions 45x35x23 cm or a laptop computer. The total weight cannot exceed 9 kgs.
Flights to/from USA and Canada (LOT Polish Airlines)
Economy Class
registered baggage: 2 pieces, none heavier then 32 kilos each. Overall dimension of one piece must not exceed 158 cm, and the other 140 cm.
cabin baggage: 1 piece, dimensions of which are not to exceed 100 cm and weight of 6 kilos.
Business Class
registered baggage: 2 pieces, not heavier than 32 kgs. Overall dimension of one piece must not exceed 158 cm.
cabin baggage: 1 piece not heavier than 9 kgs and of overall dimension not exceeding 100 cm.
Baggage for Ryanair passengers
Registered baggage: 15 kilos per passenger (it is not allowed to sum the weight of baggage within a reservation, nor carry another passenger’s baggage).
Cabin baggage: 10 kilos per passenger of total dimensions not exceeding 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. 1 piece of registered baggage paid by Internet costs 60 pln, paid at the airport - 140 pln. Every additional kilogram of baggage, exceeding 15 kilos per passenger, 82 pln/kg. One passenger can travel with 15 kilos of registered baggage. It is possible to purchase an additional bag which can carry 15 kilos. Cost of the bag is 280 pln at the airport (by Internet - 140 pln).
Passenger can also fly with unusual baggage such as sport equipment or musical instruments. Transport of sport equipment paid by Internet – check on http://www.ryanair.com/, paid at the airport – about 200 pln. Big musical instruments paid by Internet – check on http://www.ryanair.com/, paid at the airport – about 200 pln. Smaller instruments such as guitar, cello, violin, viola can be carried in the cabin after making reservation and paying for the extra place on the plane.
Baggage for Norwegian passengers
Passengers are allowed to take on board one piece of cabin baggage of maximum weight 10 kilos and dimensions not exceeding 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Additionally, passenger can travel with registered baggage not heavier than 40 kgs (two suitcases, 20 kgs each). Each suitcase costs 30 pln when paid while buying a ticket (http://www.norwegian.no/) or 60 pln when paid at the airport. Each additional kilogram of baggage costs about 30 pln when paid at the airport.
Large – size sport equipment such as surfing boards or bicycles are transported with additional fare. Passengers are required to inform the carrier about the wish to transport that unusual big baggage not later than 48 hours prior to departure. To reserve additional place for baggage call from the region of Norway 815 21 815 (later choose 2.) or +47 21 49 00 15 (later choose 2) when calling from another country. Babies and children under 2 and their baggage
Babies and children under 2 can travel with baggage not heavier than 5 kilos. This limit includes baby car seat, pram or stroller. Traveling with a baby or child under 2 does not allow carrying one more piece of cabin baggage.
Baby prams and car seats, bicycles, golf equipment, skis, angles, other sport equipment, paintings and other delicate objects are not suitable for air transport. However, if it is necessary Norwegian airlines will transport these things on condition that they are well packed.
4. Duty-free limits
The limits of duty free goods that a passenger arriving on an international flight may bring to Poland are as follows:
1 litre of spirit, 10 litres of wine, 110 litres of beer, 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g tobacco, Travelling with more than 10.000 eur in cash should be reported before check-in.
5. Executive Lounge
Located in depatures area.
Opens 60 minutes before every international departure.
Costs 70 pln and is paid before entrance to the Executive Lounge. Available for passengers of international flights organized by traditional carriers only.
6. Passenger safety
Please note car parking restrictions nearby the Terminal.
Please keep safe your travel documents.
Please report any unattended baggage, pack or bag to security officers or airport personnel.
In emergency all instructions given by security officers or airport personnel must be obeyed.
7. Articles prohibited on board
Passengers are required to remove the following articles prohibited on board from their cabin baggage or personal belongings: knives, lockable or flick knives, axes of any type, side-arms of any type, clubs, tools, razors, scissors, files, corkscrews, tweezers, mountain sticks, sticks with axe-like handles, or their models, etc.
Please read the safety instructions on your ticket and information boards carefully.
During security control and prior to check-in passengers are requested to place the articles prohibited on board in their hold baggage
The articles prohibited on board may not be deposited, passengers must remove such articles prior to gate security control.
From 6th November 2006: passengers are allowed to carry in their cabin baggage only a small amount of liquids – maximum 1 liter of liquid, cream or gel. Each container, not bigger than 100 ml, should be packed in transparent, lockable plastic bag that can be examined by appropriate personnel. More information is available on www.baa.co.uk.
Passengers are allowed to carry liquids in a registered baggage. Medicines and special diet ingredients, including baby food which will be consumed on board can be transported in cabin baggage. Passenger is also allowed to carry drinks and perfumes purchased behind a security control point or at a shop on the board.
Passengers are obliged to show all transported liquids to airport personnel at the security control point. Notebooks and other big electronic devices must be taken out of baggage and checked separately. Electronic devices are required to be charged and ready to work in case of control.
8. Baggage safety
Passengers are responsible for content of their baggage.
It is suggested that lockable suitcases/bags with padlocks, code locks, key locks, etc. are used.
Passengers shall not accept for carriage any items from other people (parcels, gifts, envelopes, etc.)
Baggage must not be left unattended.
In a registered baggage it is prohibited to carry: delicate and perishable things, glass bottles, electronic devices such as computers and other peripheral devices, jewellery and precious stones, cash, keys, cameras and video cameras, important documents, suitcases with alarm systems, medicines, medical documents and identity cards. Passengers are responsible for good packaging. Please be sure that registered baggage does not contain articles of this list.
9. Dangerous articles
For safety reasons, dangerous articles, such as those listed below, must not be carried in passenger's baggage:
- Compressed gases,
- Corrosives,
- Explosives, weapons, handguns, ammunition, crackers, flares, fireworks of any kind,
- Liquid or solid flammable materials,
- Radioactive materials,
- Suitcases with alarm system installed,
- Oxidizing agents,
- Chemical or biological toxic substances,
- Other dangerous articles specified in respective carrier's regulations
Medicines and cosmetics that may be required during the journey are permitted in reasonable quantities.
10. Electronic devices
For safety reasons the following electronic devices which transmit radio-frequency signals may not be used on board:
- Mobile phones,
- Pagers,
- Radio transmitters/receivers
- Control transmitters (such as transmitters for remote controlled toys)
Such devices carried on board must be powered-off all the time.
Computers, electronic games, tape records, CD-players, video cameras, etc. may be used on board according to crew announcements.
